Radiator Intake Grill

Can anybody supply me with the correct height and length dimesions of the S3 Radiator Intake Grill. I think they are the same throughout the Series.

I want to be able to construct one from scratch.

I'll try to remember to measure the one in the basxement tonight.

Worst case just measure the opening on the car.

Rob,

A better idea would be to hold a piece of card at the back of the aperture and draw around the hole. You would have a perfect template with the curves you need.

Make your frame so it fits just inside the profile, all you need then is the long spire clips to attach it and Bob will be your auntie

Oh if I had a air intake in the front of the rally Elan body!

The restoration has found many things about this little car. It had a very very hard life as an experimental car at Lotus and obviously did not have much of a life when it left to run around the rally fields in the North of England in 68. The front was smashed to bits many times and has been repaired by some naughty soul by placing EPOXY!!!! resin OVER the welsh mud that was still found at the front of the car...30 years later!!!!!. After taking it all to bits I have been left with little or no front intake.


So I have no template apart from the workshop manual drawings.

I think a new painted grille is around ?20. Is it really worth making one from scratch?

Correction closer to ?35 these days, Paul Matty do a shiny stainless steel version..
