Clutch compatibility

PostPost by: tdafforn » Tue May 01, 2007 5:38 pm

Hi Guys,
Was the clutch used in the +2 the same as any of the other clutches used in other fords of the era?
Any idea how many splines?
Cheers

According to a very old clutch book (quinton Hazel) that i Borrowed, MK1 Lotus Cortina and Cortina GT. I think its 20 spline but would have to check my work shop manual!

- the clutch on all TwinCams are the same. 7/8" - 20 spline. The dia is 216 mm, versus 190 on contemp. Cortinas etc.

In Australia a lot of Elan users use Fiat 124 132 clutch plates. Cheaper, stronger than Ford units.

Hi Sarah,
Do you need the whole kit or just the friction disk?
