Clutch finger adjustment?

As I was replacing the clutch plate as part of my 7 rebuild, I thought it ideal to change the pressure pate as well - and was lucky (I thought) to find a NOS assembly for this 7.25" clutch.
On inspection, the fingers are raised a bit higher than the surface of the assembly and spread further than the original. The pictures below show how the fingers would sit on the bearing. The left is the original, the NOS on the right side. As you can see, the NOS assembly fingers would ride on the race rather than the intended surface.
I don't have any experience with these - can the fingers be adjusted inward? How high or low should they sit, relative to the top of the pressure plate cover?
Alternatively, the original has very little wear - the pressure plate is almost the exact thickness as the NOS so I could just use the original.

If you bolt the new pressure plate into position with a clutch plate the arms will come together and seat on the bearing I believe. Your old pressure plate springs have probably collapsed a little so in the right position with no pressure.
All this assumes the new pressure plate you have is correct.
