Window frame runners/ rubbers

PostPost by: Mjnboys » Wed Oct 02, 2013 3:58 pm

Hi, half way through my plus 2 restoration. Just sent window frames off to be rechromed. Does anyone know where I can buy the door/ window rubber runners that sit in the door glass surround and the qtr light glass rubbers. Thank you

What a spooky coincidence! - I received mine today from Car Builder Solutions, have a look at their website, listed under Flocked Window 'U' Channel (WCHAN) - ?5 per metre, I got 7 metres which should be enough to do the windows on my S4 - not sure about +2 though.

Hi

Sue Miller does most for the +2 except for the upright ones on the quarter lite channels
Got mine from her and they all iseem to fit OK
rebuilding my doors at present and just about to post a question about window trim myself!

best of luck Bob

Cheers guys both very helpful

Does anyone know how to remove the washer jets, are they bolted from under the dash, how do you get to them.

Thanks

Yes the securing nuts are behind the dash.

Fortunately for me, both my dash and windscreen were out when I did my washer jets and even with 6 point sockets I still broke one on my plastic jets.
I replaced mine with chrome ones from Sue Miller as the plastic ones are very difficult to get hold of.

Also note that the Jets need to be longer than the standard ones fitted to steel bodies as the Lotus fibre glass body is much thicker.
Good luck.

I would be interested to know where you have sent your Window frames.
