S4 Spyder Seat Belts DHC

PostPost by: terryp » Mon Apr 29, 2013 1:33 pm

Hello
Has anyone a photo of all the brackets and innersia wheels in place as I cannot work out how it all is fixed.
I've emailed Sean but he hasn't come back to me yet

Thanks

My drop-head coupe (1969 Federal S4, like yours) does not have inertial reels. Adjustment of the seatbelt straps is manual. That's how the factory supplied the S4.

If you go to the "Elan Forum Discussions" Page 2 from a couple of weeks ago, Message Title S4 Rebuild, I think it is the last but one Photo of my Spyder Seat Belt Brackets I would send you a better Photo but the Car has gone off for Painting now

Thanks so much Peter. Do you know where the two small pieces per side fit?

All the best

Terry
The Two Bolts go thru from the Boot side with the Top Hat Spacers spacing the Bracket away from the Fiberglass the Two Belt Sliders go into the top Bolt Holes which would line up with the Slots in the Back Board and the Reels are bolted into the Bottom Bolt Holes nearest the floor, the two U shaped Brackets with the Nuts welded in are to extend the Static part of the Belt (where the Buckle is) in case you have the Seat in its forward position.
Hope that helps

Peter
Do you know whether the small plate that is for the inertia reel on the lower hole goes just behind the plate or behind the fibreglass as well?

Thanks
