Chassis primer

Hi folks,
Recently got my Plus 2 back after a full respray. The body remained on it's chassis which is a Lotus replacement item. I now want to repaint the chassis within then engine bay b(empty and also resprayed). Anybody recommend a good primer for applying to a galvanised surface? Not convinced about Hammerite anymore - just not as good as it used to be.
Thanks
Martin B

Martin, depending on how weathered the galvanising is, you will need an etching primer. I've had very good experience with Bilt Hamber's weld through etching primer and also with U-Pol's Acid#8. I've used them both on bare steel, galvanised steel and aluminium. The Acid#8 can be had from most motor factors..
