Replacing rubber strip between windscreen frame and body S1

PostPost by: batfish » Sun Apr 10, 2011 11:42 am

Could anyone give me some advise on how to go about replacing the sealing stip between the windscreen frame and the body of an S1 elan. I assume firstly that the frame has to be loosened or removed but does the windscreen have to be removed from the frame or can the new rubber be tucked under the windscreen rubber with the windscreen in the frame?

regards

Hi Andy,

You don"t have to remove the glass from the frame . The strip is shaped like a asymmetrical T with the long end inserted between the frame and the body. a couple of dabs of weatherstrip adhesive should hold it in place.
