engine to front chassis tube distance

PostPost by: bob_rich » Sat Jul 17, 2010 11:25 pm

Hi Folks

For a +2 with a Spyder chassis (circa 1973) Would be interested to know the distance between the pulley on the end of the crankshaft ( standard V belt) and the chassis tube that constitutes the vacuum reservior for the headlamp pods. The engine is standard twin cam with an L block and a 4 speed 2000E type gear box with standard bell housing.

I took a lot of pictures before the stripdown but am trying to gauge the space between the pulley and the tube with a bit more accuracy than I can from analysis of the the pictures I took.

thanks for any measurement you may be able to provide

cheers

Bob

On my 73 Plus2S 130/5 the distance from the front of the crank pulley to the centre line of the the Spyder chassis front cross member is approximately 15mm. The Spyder space frame chassis is from the early 90's.

Hope this helps.

cheers
