Hello all Lotus Friends! If you haven't seen the latest Jay Leno Video, it is the best adverstising for our Elans ............EVER.

Now for my question: I'm getting my frame back today from the sandblasters. When I took it in last week, I say it had been repaired at the left front in the 1977 time frame. The left front uprigh appears to have been replaced. I have the frame specs. I plan on measuring my frame's spec against the factoy specs. Question - What are the tolorences? In otherwords, if the height to the upper control arm is 10 inches, what is the gve or take allowance? Any help is appreciated. It looks like I have access to a Car-o-liner frame machine and its flat table. My plan is to check the frame for straightness, bring back into spec if necessary, an then weld in many of the TTR gussetting.

Thank you Frank

Enjoyed the Leno video!

He apparently dropped a Big Valve weber-headed twink in a non-Sprint, not that there's anything wrong with that, as it's not represented otherwise... There's no real attempt to keep it stock, just safer and more reliable. (That glovebox cover could use some refinishing though.)

Brian Buckland wrote in his book that Lotus chassis drawings may differ from reality as they used their old first design draft. Brians book has new drawings and maybe you should check before putting violent force on the poor old frame...

PS: my car also has an old, original frame - and I like it and there's nothing wrong with it...
