Rear Chassis Earthing

My "solution" to providing a better earth from the battery to the chassis is as follows.

M10 (or 7/16") fully threaded bolt welded upright to chassis - fitted centrally and slightly back from the rearmost 3/8" screws that engage into body bobbins. The top of the earthing screw ground to a tapered end.

A clearance hole drilled through the body to match. When lowering the body down on to the chassis, the tapered end bolt functions as a "stab-in" guide and ensures the rear of the body aligned on to the chassis. The earthing strap can now be connected to the welded bolt inside the boot, knowing that there is a low resistance welded connection to the chassis. The thread electrical resistance can be lowered using a mechanical locking nut such as a philidas if desired. In any case, this thread is now in the dry interior rather than exposed underneath the car where corrosion inevitably will degrade the connection.

All relatively easy to do when fitting the new chassis.
