Need to order a chassis

The reason Miles doesn't offer galvanising now is that his original supplier for many years won contracts for materials for London 2012.
He did try alternate suppliers at that point but a whole batch of chassis came back with flaking material etc, so he just stopped offering that capability.

Wow,
thanks for all the replies to my first post, After a bit of internet surfing and the advice from you guys i am pleased to announce that an order has been placed with Miles for a new black powder-coated chassis that should be ready to pick up January at the latest.
With the body and panels at the body shop, the chassis on order, i am now turning my attention to inspecting, cleaning and sorting through all my suspension and braking components ready for the rebuild (a busy winter lies ahead!)
I will be stripping the engine block down for inspection ready for rebuild, but would ideally like to hand over my cylinder head to a professional for the relevent inspection, machine work (seats and guides etc) and some light porting/polishing, any thoughts on who are the go to people for head work in the Elan world?
again all advice greatly received.
thanks in advance
Simon

Having seen a few examples of aging powder-coatong, there's no way I'd choose that.
There's a coating over here called POR15, that would be my choice.
There was a Wheeler Dealer episode with a TVR powder-coated chassis that was a wreck.
Corrosion can spread under a perfect-looking finish. I know some patio chairs I wouldn't sit on that look fine.

How very true. I recall him having a right go at my refurbed carbs and eventually asking where I'd had them done. It gave me some pleasure to remind him he had.

I would have thought Zylan would be good instead of powder coating extremely tough not sure of the cost though. Also there are different types of powder coating with TVR the later T car chassis are much better but the manufacture is interested in price not having it last 50 years. The consideration is hot zinc spraying
