What did you use to coat your chassis?

Sounds like a plan Dave. Plus 2 officially hibernating now at the Mother in Law's garage. We had a few snow flakes last week, :( If you are down over the winter we can take a bit of a look if needed.

I had my chassis stripped at a place that looked like a set for a horror movie, or maybe "Sweeny Todd." They did a good job. After I had some strengthening done, I painted it using products from KBS (http://www.kbs-coatings.com/?). This paint is probably a lot like POR-15; the primary reason I chose it was that it came in "Oxide Red," which turned out to be much brighter (closer to Spyder) than I thought. The car has been on the road for several years and the finish is holding up fine. I was able to paint inside the backbone section without too much difficulty.

I love the sound of a torque wrench in the morning. Sounds like... progress.

So I'm getting ready to prepare the chassis for painting and I was wondering if my frame had already been modified already.

On the right hand side of the tunnel, there is a piece of metal riveted to the chassis. It starts at the bottom fold, then runs up about four inches up the side. I peeked inside the tunnel and it isn't concealing any damage, so I'm not sure why it would be there if it wasn't stock. However, the rivets look a little amateur.

See my (crappy) picture:

Dave, did you ever determine the origin of that riveted plate on your chassis?

And how's the build going?
