What to do with an old Elan chassis modified for Alfa engine

PostPost by: Etienne 7 » Wed Oct 09, 2013 11:01 am

Hello all,

I am putting my car back to its "original" condition by putting a new chassis and a Lotus Twincam inside. The car (1965 Elan S2) was modified in the 70s to receive an 1600 TC Alfa Romeo engine.

The modification is done in France very near Dieppe and there is now an old chassis which I don't know what to do with.

Although I heard a lot of people saying that they've heard of an Alfa-powered Elan, the cars seem very rare and maybe the chassis would be of interest.

Any advice? My basic idea was to put it on ebay notifying that it was heavily modified and see for how much it would go (I don't think it is roadworthy but maybe the steel is worth something). Maybe it can be of use for the Elan community.

Feel free to post.

Salutations,

Etienne

Etienne,

I would be interested to see photos of the chassis, if it's not to much trouble to post.

This is academic interest only, so please do not think I am interested in the chassis itself.

Hello Steve,

I'll try to have some pictures uploaded by the end of the week, if not definitely next week.

If not for commercial interest, at least for common knowledge :)
