When refitting the Window Frames back into the Doors should there be a Seal Strip between the Chrome Flange and the Doors or would anyone confirm if you should run a small bead of Silicone Sealant around before fitting the Frames, replies would be appreciated.

I don't think any sealer is required. The poor felt seal arrangement between frame and glass is where most of the water enters the door and sealing the joint between the frame and the door will not improve matters much, if at all. The sealant may also make subsequent removal of the frame from the door more difficult when/if you need to repair the window lift cable.

Thank you for replies, and I can only agree with Roger there is quite a large access gap between Window and Felt Seal and that is with new Felt Seals, which were a lot of fun to fit !!!!

When I removed my window frames during a rebuild they were sealed with a rubber based non-setting mastic. Removal was no more difficult than normal .I replaced the sealant not to keep any water out but to form a compliant gasket between the two surfaces in the same way as you would use a gaskets for the door locks, hinges and other fitments. This gave me a uniform fit and once the excess was cleaned a presentable finish.
How these items are fitted is entirely up to the individual

Mine certainly had no sealant on them & I put them back that way.
"Gluing" them in would only add further frustration to an already frustrating job at a later date should repairs be needed (oh & they will be one day).
However! the frames for my car had some "hardboard" packing strips to lift the front of the frames to match the slope of the "A" pillars.
By the time I put things back together I'd forgotten all about those "special parts"
Also the pile of washers that landed in the bottom of the doors when I removed the fixing bolts for the frames.
Those washers also adjusted the "inward slope" of the frames.
All jobs that I must re-do when I'm brave enough to face the wretched business of those wire lock linkages!
Good luck
John
