Federal Brake Boosters (servo)

PostPost by: nigelfletcher » Mon Sep 06, 2004 12:26 pm

Hi All,

please could someone tell me the specification for the federal brake boosters.

Are they both the same?
Are they the same type as the single servo fitted to UK cars?
What's the modern equivalent?

I seem to remember that boosters are classified by how much assistance they provide (a ratio - I think). Please could someone tell me what that is for the standard federal boosters.

My car is a UK RHD +2 and runs a federal tandem master cylinder, but with no servo, meaning a very high pedal effort. My local MOT inspector has just failed the car for this reason (and a couple of other minor points). Hence I'm looking to install two boosters.

Thanks

Nigel

Hi Nigel,
The Federal and Uk boosters are the same - 2:1.
