Cleaning Brake Calipers

Anyone have thoughts (pro or con) on using a heated sonic cleaner to clean brake calipers? Solution is 50% water and 50% Simple Green. Obviously a thorough cleaning (using brake clean that is not harmful to rubber) to remove any traces of water would be required after the event.

I agree w/ you, just no petroleum based solvents. I use denatured alcohol for general cleaning and finish off w/ brake clean. I also make up a tool using a small radial brush from " Dremal" to clean inside the seal grooves. I use a piece of aluminum, perhaps 3/8 diam about 6 in long. Drill an 1/8 through hole near the end and a small tapped hole in the end to lock the brush into the 1/8 in hole. Use a circular motion to clean grooves. Works a treat.
