brake cylinder filler cap

I haven't been to look at the Burton one currently fitted to my Elan, but the old one in my box of spares doesn't appear to have a part number on it. There are some very hard to decipher numbers around the centre boss, but I think they are Patent numbers. I can't be sure though. I can't make out anything that looks like either of the numbers mentioned.
The Burton cap looked identical to the old one, and screwed on just as badly. So it had to be the right one.

Yes! My replacement, from way back, has always been awkward and the original just got too difficult to fit I seem to remember.
I've just noticed that the brake cylinder has proud threads only on the sides, the clutch cylinder too, presumably to ease the casting; but whereas the clutch only has one proud moulding each side the brake has two on one side and just one on the other. Can't think why that should make it more difficult, perhaps it is the ratio of thread pitch to cap diameter.
