Rear Caliper Handbrake Dismantling

I am in the process of dismantling the rear brake calipers on my S4 Elan. Can anyone tell me how to remove the handbrake arm assemblies from the caliper body. They look like 1/4" approx diameter pins with a small internal thread. Are you supposed to screw something into the thread to extract them?
