Hi All,
I have tried several places but cannot get a consistent answer.
What is the correct overall length for Front Brake hoses? I have the Banjo fitting in the centre rear of the caliper.
Just need the overall lengt of the hose excluding the banjo fitting but including the metal ends.
thanks,
Simon

Hi Simon
It's kind of tough to measure a bent hose, I measured 3 one on the Elan chassis at 11 and a bit - inches and two more on a tape measure and they were a bit longer at 11.25 and 11.5 inch excluding any and all of the threaded 3/8 unf that the banjo and female nut screws onto. The rears are about an inch longer at approximately 12 to 12.5 inches
A random selection from the Hose bag

Pretty much the same as mine......
I've got 328mm (12 15/16") overall and 290mm (11 9/16") excluding the threads
Rear hose is 365mm (14 3/8") overall and 330mm (13") excluding threads

I measured mine last week, with difficulty.
I got:
14" front right
16" front left
16" Rear right
Couldn't reach rear left.
Those were from the centre of the banjo to the end of the straight thread.
It's probably safe to have them a little longer rather than shorter. They might rub on the bodywork, but the won't be stressed when you jack up the car and have the suspension at full droop.
