Brake reservior

PostPost by: gh+2s » Thu Nov 01, 2007 11:31 pm

Any suggestions for finding a new brake reservior for a '71 +2s? Its a Girling piece with a snap in feature that doesn't seem to hold up very well. Was it used on anything else? Also, any source for tail light lenses? I'm hoping to hit the home stretch of a restoration soon.

I believe the Elan S4 & +2 rear lamp lenses are different to those on Jaguar E-Types - The Lotus types have a clear insert for the reversing light, but the E-Type ones are red - compare eBay items 160173432831 (Lotus) and 270182229994 (Jaguar)...

'Tis true what "ppnelan" says. E-Types have separate reversing lamps, hence only a red reflector where the clear lens would be.
Paul Matty has the lenses http://www.paulmattysportscars.co.uk/

I have a pair of the rear light assemblies, complete with lenses from a 70 Elan +2S ser 0054N. No cracks and in good shape. Located in Beaufort SC and just got the car/parts here. pm me if you are still interested and "make me an offer I can't refuse." I can send pictures if you are interested. I have alot of other misc. parts too.

I haven't put them on ebay yet but will do so soon if no takers.

Good luck in finishing your project

Dan
