Upgrade to dual circuit brakes

I think most federal cars had dual boosters and larger master. If you want to or are able to fit dual boosters then there are likely lots of masters that could be used.
Personally I do think that the early large cap spitfire one might well work. Just requires someone to buy one and see.

I think I just had one on my eBay saved list for a couple of months. Up until I got it I was in the same boat as you, pilling my hair out wandering how to solve the problem.
Am I right in thinking that you have fitted one of these? Was it on a +2? Any issues/photos?
thanks
Mike

See my link on the previous page Mike. Dropped straight in, though I did make and connect the brake likes prior to bolting it in.
Think mine may have been about £40 second hand as the Caterham boys like to upgrade to a larger size.
Caterham list them at £200 (will need to check the bore size) which is steep compared to all the imported junk we're used to buying. But AP racing are a quality brand.
I probably would have brought a new one if they had any stock at the time.

Hi
I am buying a plus 2 (hopefully) that has this arrangement. I am not sure what it is though!

Zetec+ 2 under const, also 130S. And another 130S for complete restoration. Previously Racing green +2s with green tints. Yellow +2 and a couple of others, all missed. Great to be back 04/11/2021 although its all starting to get a bit out of control.

Looks like a custom made job with 2 single master cylinders instead of 1 dual one. There will be a spreader bar on top of the pedal which equally pushes on each master cylinder (or is adjustable to give a bias to one or the other cylinder - front/rear)
Common on aftermarket pedal boxes. Not easy to fit in the limited space on a +²

Looks like it has a detachable top to the pedal box so you will be able to have a good look. Interesting.
Cheers

Hi Guys
Thank you for your insights. I should have had a closer look when I inspected the car. If/when I get a chance to post detailed pictures of the setup I will do.
All the best
