Gary, as usual, good advice offerred by you.
On the subject of seized pipe connection into the caliper, I kind of think that the flexible hose, short piece of brake pipe into caliper, is a neat solution (at least this is how it is plumbed up on my Plus 2 and I have seen others the same).
That way the little piece of pipe between the hose and the caliper is completely expendable. It doesn't take more than 15 minutes to make a new one. A coil of CuNi pipe and a box of fittings on the standby.
Regards
Gerry

Yes, thanks Gary. One or two of those wrenches look a little meatier than mine.
And Gerry, that's what I've been thinking. Cut the short piece, use a normal wrench/spanner (prob. heat and cold), and use new flexible and solid pieces.
If not dismantle caliper!
Ta very much for the input. Now at least I've got a plan!

Hi James,
I going to make a recommendation that is counter to the advice given so far - get a sturdy box, put the calipers in the box send the calipers down to goldline in Seattle. For about 50 bucks more than the cost of the parts you get a pair of nice painted, rebuilt calipers with new bleed nipples, seals pistons etc.
There's no honor in taking torches, compressed air, grease-guns to rusty iron girling calipers ( I'll make the exception on a pair of alloy race calipers though) .
