Could anyone recommend someone in the UK to re-furb and plate rear-calipers and hand-brake assembly?
Thanks

I have recently used Classicar Automotive for my fronts and rears inc handbrake. Very pleased with the results.

Could you give some indication of cost? If that's not a rude question...

That’s fine, I believe they advertise a price in Club Lotus magazine anyway.
They were £175 each + VAT and shipping about a year ago. The callipers are fully stripped, cleaned, blasted and inspected. If the handbrake mechanism is worn the holes are machined to accept oversized pins. The calliper component are zinc plated prior to being rebuilt with stainless pistons, new pins and springs. See attached photo.

I didn't think they were expensive, given the cost of the parts used. I am very happy with the work done.
The only possible complaint would be the use of cap-head bolts in place of hex-head to hold the caliper halves together. I spoke to the proprietor about this, who explained that hex-head bolts weren't available in the correct size and material quality anymore.
This sounded like nonsense to me, so I tried to find the correct hex head bolts to prove him wrong. He was quite correct, I spent a few fruitless hours on google and couldn't find the appropriate hex-head fittings.
