Does anyone know the thread of the arrowed brake pipe union leading to the front disc of the Elan?

I need to get a suitable plug to minimise leakage when I remove the calipers.

The fittings should be 3/8-24 UNF although the front calipers on later +2s are metric. Be very careful what you use as you don't want to damage the flares. Plastic caps and plugs are available. I am sure that suppliers such as Demon Tweeks or Burton would have them in the UK.

You can also use a bleed nipple there as a plug. Just don't tighten it too much that it damages the flair.

You could look at leakage as a form of changing the brake fluid.
Don't fight it; embrace the leakage.
