Under dash handbrake

I have a 1966 S3 FHC that I have almost completed the restoration of. One of the remaining issues is to sort out the handbrake lever. Mine has the under dash pull lever with the white release button in the top. The problem is, the button has shattered. It is impossible to reconstruct it sufficiently to make a copy - I have some nylon that I was planning to use for this.

Also I haven't been able to obtain a replacement from the usual sources, Mike Miller, SJ Sportcars etc. It was suggested that I try classic Ford parts suppliers as I understand the same handbrake lever was used on early Mk II Cortinas in the 60s. This has also proved fruitless so far.

Has anybody got any alternative suggestions for sourcing one? Or even better, has anybody got a spare one knocking around that I could either buy, or borrow to enable me to use as a template to make a copy.

I understand the same handbrake lever was used on early Mk II Cortinas in the 60s.

The umbrella levers were quite popular in the fifties when the fashion was for bench seats, precluding the use of the normal centrally-mounted levers. I'd be talking to the Consul Owners Club (I'm guessing that there is one), Zephyr Owners etc. if I were you. Bearing in mind the timing of the design/introduction of the Elan it would be my guess that the lever was probably sourced from that sort of time.

Thanks for all your help guys. I really apreciate it. I managed to buy the handbrake mechanism for sale on ebay which is a direct replacement. Should be finished come the weekend.
