Handbrake Assembly Removal

Can anyone suggest how to remove the handbrake mechanism from the rear calipers.
It seems to be retained by an interference fit pin.

Just pulled mine apart today to clean them.

The pins pull out, you need to screw a bolt in the pin, the inside of the pin is threaded.

Use a bolt and and a small socket and washer to pull the pin out. My ones needed lots of lub.

Hi,

The thread is 2Ba. so try and get a quality bolt / caphead, nut and something to use as a spacer.
Clean the 2Ba pin thread out with a tap
Run the nut up the bolt, fit the spacer then screw the caphead fully into the pin ? there is a maximum ??of thread.
Use the nut to draw the pin out not the bolt. This will make sure you don?t strip the thread.
The pin is only a push fit into the caliper as it?s the handbrake pad which actually holds the pin in place.

Regards
Steve

Thanks for the information.
It removes the stage where you break it to find out how it fits together
