Spyder +2 chassis - engine mount spacers which side?

Hi All,
I've been going through the forum discussions about installing the engine in a +2 Spyder chassis and one point remains unclear, that is which side to place the spacers. The shop manual shows them installed on the carb side (right side) in a standard chassis, but when it comes to the Spyder chassis various posts say the left side (exhaust side) while others say the right side (carb side). Is it carb side or exhaust side?

Always been on the exhaust side IIRC
Main difference between the two is the Spyder has arms that mount to the block rather than the arms as part of the chassis. Easier to get the engine in an out
