1969 Burnt Sand Plus 2 - ? Trevor from Poole

I am searching for previous owners of a Burnt Sand Plus 2, I believe 1969, with a body number of 2072.
As body and VIN numbers did not align until 1970 onwards, I have looked for a car on the Registry with a VIN which is very close - the best I can do is 50/2076 owned by Trevor from Poole in the 1980s.
Does anyone know of this car or indeed of Trevor from Poole?!!
Thanks in advance.

David, Body numbers have no relevance when identifying a particular Elan. This is principally because no records exist of which boy was fitted to which car, apart from the very earliest Elans in 1963/4
The key identifier is the unique Unit No. Without that, or an Engine No or registration mark, it is very tricky to identify a car.
50/2072 was at auction in 2020. It was a race spec car with a known partial history. I have the auction listing and a photo of the red +2, plus some notes from a PO. It was invoiced by the factory in Nov 69.
Do you have anything else to go on, by any chance?
Tim

Hi Tim
Thanks - that's all I have - three sets of the same body number on the car but no VIN plate - the roof number says 'SAND' also so I'm looking for a needle in a haystack - a Plus 2 produced in 1969 that was Sand Brown and became a race car!!
The Elan Registry showing a car with a close by body number and in Sand, Trevor from Poole, is as far as I have got.

Hi
I remember that car when it was auctioned. I really liked the look of it. And still do in fact. Best of luck in tracking down it's original identity.
Do you wish to use it in the road?

Zetec+ 2 under const, also 130S. And another 130S for complete restoration. Previously Racing green +2s with green tints. Yellow +2 and a couple of others, all missed. Great to be back 04/11/2021 although its all starting to get a bit out of control.

Hi Berni - thanks, it's a lovely car, always nice to work out which road going car a race car was originally.
I do have a GTS Elan which is essentially a race car which is occasionally road going, also an Elite race car similarly, on the way - always nice to drive too and from the occasional event.
