Lotus Elan

Indicator/side light gasket

PostPost by: seaandmoor » Wed Nov 15, 2023 4:20 pm

Afternoon everyone.
1973 Elan Plus 2 indicator/side light gasket - the closed cell foam thing that goes between the plastic lens and the body of the light itself that holds the bulbs.
I tried Sue and Classic Team Lotus that took over Paul Matty but no luck.
Can anyone recommend where I might get a pair of these foam gaskets from please? Mine have turned to misshaped cracked brittle biscuits.
Thank you kindly.

I'm pretty sure SJ do them?

....previously I've made my own using some foam sheet.

This is what I am doing on my S4's lights and other body touching parts (such as boot hinges). Won't save a fortune but every little helps.

I am short on time so I ordered a pair from SJ on line.
Their website is great - the ordering process follows exactly the index in the +2 workshop manual and was despatched the same day.

Thanks again everyone.
