I may be crazy for asking this:
My 71 Lotus Elan Plus 2S is a failed previous restoration, and was purchased with most of the bits uninstalled and in boxes. It had been taken completely apart. I have owned the car for four years and it has just finally had the engine fired up. We bypassed most of the electrical system. The car will soon start, run, stop and steer! This is called phase 1. Lol.
The next phase will be making the car more like a real sportscar. The interior is currently an open fiberglass shell. So next steps are to install a workable dash, electrical system, ancillary mechanical systems and all the rest. While I have parts lists, manuals, and schematics..I was wondering anyone in the Raleigh NC area own one of these??
It would be very much appreciated if I could arrange to actually see a real live car in person, and take notes, photos, and learn whatever I can. Your car will not be touched, just observed to gain assembly "clues". Thank you all for your time and consideration.

If you're not a member, it's worth joining Lotus Ltd, the national club. They maintain a list of owners across the country who are willing to be resources to other owners. I carry a printout whenever I travel with in/with ny Lotus in case I have a problem.
My last printout is not at hand, but I do seem to recall a number of Elan owners in central NC. I can't remember noticing whether Elan or +2, but would be surprised if there isn't one within an hour or two of you.
