Personal choice but I’d go for taking the tank out through the inside of the car as there is more room, but the boot is possible. Either way you’ll need to remove the rear parcel shelf and rear seat back and rear boot panel to disconnect the fuel gauge. The fuel pipe connection on the tank is awkward to access without an access hole cut in the rear of the boot.
As for the rear struts the reply above has it about covered but I’d do it slightly differently, I wouldn’t undo the top nut on the damper, I’d leave it on and instead undo the two bolts that hold the top mount in place. That way you don’t have to worry about compressing the spring when putting it back.
That said both ways will work, just personal preference.
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine!
