I thought that it is time to finally come out of the shadows, now my +2 is finished after 32 years!

is the roof solid taint (gelcoat with metallic flakes in) or paint ?

keep it on the road ! (and dry when in storage, to prolong that as new condition as long as possible)

The gold roof and sills are metal flake paint, not in the gel coat which had faded very badly, it looks amazing close up, it spent nearly a year just settling in the primer.
The seats are from a MR2 and heated, very comfortable

The only external changes that were made are, a modern fuel cap, (I don't like the original, it spoils the cars line, in my opinion) And the windscreen does not use the big chrome plastic strip for bonding in the glass, which never looks satisfactory.

I concur with the others - very very good!

I wish though you had finished and posted a year ago! a) I never thought of trying the MR2 seats, and plumped for an aftermarket Porsche type, but slightly regret it as the cushion is maybe too long. Yours 'belong' there more than mine, and b) my upholsterer would not pipe along the centre console, saying that it would get scuffed. I wish I had now insisted as your piping gives some 'length' to the interior.

I will, if you do not mind, copy your fuel cap idea. I agree, much nicer.

Was the original screen of the bonded in type? If so I would be interested to learn how you overcame the the lack of a bottom lip to the windscreen opening to enable the fitment of the earlier windscreen rubber and insert?
Normally it is not possible to fit the rubber/insert on a bonded in windscreen later model +2.
Was a lip fibreglassed in along the bottom of the opening or can you tell me please how was retaining the rubber in the opening done?

By the way...as others have said the car looks simply beautiful!!
