selling Elan +2 for a freind

I read FAQ but did not find my situation exactly.

Trying to help an older friend who wants to sell his 1970 Elan +2. I am 65 by the way.

He lives about 100 miles away from major metro areas, pretty far outside Llano Texas. I live near Austin, where the car is now. I have been tinkering on the car in my shop, with major help coming from this forum.

The car is ready to offer, and he's ready to sell.

In my opinion, the Elan is in very good condition, and I have owned 100s of vehicles. Amazingly complete and undamaged. A beauty.

So what is the best way to inform the group about the car and offer it for sale? I don't own it, but I am the expert on the details. The car is sitting at my place close to Austin where we think it's easier to show, rather than out in the West Texas boonies off a county road.

I am NOT the owner of the car so it seems the forum does not want me to list it here. The owner is readily available for negotiations, but at an age where he does not use the computer for much, you might wait a week or longer to get a response to an email, that sort of thing.

But I would like to post some pics, and get some opinions on fair value. And if a deal comes together that's fine too.

We looked into BaT and I think the car is a strong candidate for that type of top-flight promotion. But I also understand it can take weeks to get through all the hoops, we're not trying to knock it out of the park, just make a fair deal perhaps locally.

I missed this car on offer from last month, so giving it a bump. Looks like a nice complete and original Federal model located in Texas. No affiliation with the seller or OP. If one is looking for a Plus 2 this looks like a good lead. Have no idea if it has sold.

I think it did, R Chong tried to purchase it I believe.

Will have to check with Richard then. There may be a Plus 2 project locally, but not sure of the status. I think the owner was trying to get the car into running condition for sale.
