Just got the under dash trim to fit and the boot to trim and then she's finished.
Oh yes and put on the bottom window/door chrome trim on, now I've got a pair.
Do I fit the side chrome strips? If so where could I get them from?
Regards Tony

Personally I have them fitted but I like the cleaness of your car without them. I would leave them off.
Your car looks great without them.

Nice job Tony - looks beautiful. Have those seats been recovered, looks like they have the cloth inserts?
The sill strips crop up on Ebay occasionally. Mine has been fitted, by the previous owner, with some slimmer strips similar to that which is on the SE Elans...

Thanks for the comments. Think I like the clean lines without the strips but haven't decided. Wondering whether to paint the sill bolts black, to match the sill bottom, or leave them as they are?
Seats are all vinyl and the original material. Luckily the seats were in good condition and just needed a good cleaning.
Been driving her every weekend and she needs a wash - darn the hose pipe ban!

Lovely car Tony, Yes the sill (and bolts) on the Plus 2 and Elan should be black. It needs to be as invisible as possible from the side view.

Yes, I'll be glad when this terrible drought is over and the sun actually starts shining again

Yes a lovely car indeed!
Mine is around 6 months away from the stage you are at - be just in time for Winter (which doesn't seem to have finished yet, it's bloody freezing in Cumbria and has been for weeks )
It's very subjective but for what it's worth, having looked at my +2 for months without the cill strips, I fitted them a couple of weeks ago and I have to say I think it does provide a nice accent - sort of 'relegates' the cill area to where it should be if that makes sense. The lower flange and bolts never look nice and to my mind eye the cill strip resolves that somehow by divorcing the rest of the car from what is not an especially pleasing area.
I have left the gutter channels off however, mainly cos I could not be bothered to send them to the chrome platers and I think the car actually looks better without them.
