Frame after much work. ok I figured out why no pics. My files are to big. Stay tuned.

Thrashing it at Blackhawk raceway.
I have many more pics but you guys can read between the lines. I have since put 20,000 miles on my car and love every minute. I did all the work in my two car garage other than engine machinework. I do not have a lot of money but I make up for it with my enthusiasm and love of Lotus.

Thanks for posting the photos. Your Plus 2 looks excellent in black ! Sounds like you really enjoy driving it.

How long did you spend on the restoration? Did you do your own paint work? I am considering prepping and painting my Elan which is now in decent mechanical shape.

Thanks for posting the pictures and details. Are you running it without bumpers? It looks surprisingly good with an absence of chrome.

Yes I did all bodywork myself. I have some bodywork experience tho. My car has bumpers. The rear is stock metal one blacked out. The front is a fiberglass one that I took two inches out of the middle and glassed in studs to hide the bolts. Still looking for a rear glass bumper.

Ahh! I see the bumpers now, the picture of the bare painted shell and the absence of chrome in your main pictures threw me off track.

It looks good black on black, It's nice to see something non traditional from time to time.

If any one of the group has a Elan they would like to entrust to me I am looking for one. Preferably a basketcase FHC as I do not have alot of money. But I would entertain any opportunity.
