After 2 1/2 years car is registered and warrented and ready to use. It is not pure Lotus as it is running a modified 1600 crossflow and an Isuzu 5 speed gearbox. My thanks go to POs
who recond all the suspension, chassis powdrecoated. It was purchased as numerous boxes of bits and a lot of fun has been had putting it back together. It was last on the road in 1991.
Many thanks to this forum for the numerous replies to posts and I hope I can be of help to other members.

Looks great Graham a job well done
Is the registration number the original as my car (which is also a 73 model) original registration no was GU4222
this was lost after car was reregistered in 89 after been off the road for a period of time (car is currently in storage in Auckland)
How does the 1600 crossflow compare to a twin cam assuming you have driven a plus 2 with one

Hi Mark
yes the plates are the originals as rego was on hold since 1991. Also has sports car world wellimgton sticker on rear screen as supplier.
We had a 71 2s big valve in uk in 1975 and brought back to nz.
Havnt really tried out crossflow but seems to rev pretty freely- it has had head reworked a little ,and balanced ,lightened flywheel, formula ford ignition, no leaks.
Hopefully it will give a reliable and very usable car ,as my main like is the body shape and the handling.
