We have just closed the booking on our Club Lotus France event here and we wondered if anyone has any pictures of 10 or more Elan +2s together or are we going to have a record? (!!!)
We have 14 cars coming in total consisting of:-
10No Elan +2
3No Elan
1No Europa Twin Cam

It must be close (discounting the Lotus car park when they were still making them!) although I think there were 12 or more at a Club Lotus meeting at Cadwell Pk a few years ago...

Thanks for the pictures , we probably need to get a few more owners here to attend next year to break the record!
We may get to 11 if "Tonycharente" brings his +2 rather than his Elan.
And I have quite a few spares..............
Having said that, you say 12 but I can only see 5 plus a few blurs
Thanks again

ah, the unfortunate affect of reducing the resolution. There were 6 +2s in front of mine in photo 5 (7 in total) and I think 5 behind it in photo 3 so that's where I got the 12 from - and that's only the cars that were surrounding mine, there were more there.
Somewhere I'm also sure I've got a photo from a Club Lotus parts fair where they featured the +2 and lined them up outside... will have a look to see if I can find it.

Quick question. Anyone know the colour name & code for the bottom pic in Craig's post above? A friend of mine had a Plus 2 in that colour, but haven't seen one posted before. I don't think it is tawny, rather a metalic bronze colour?
Terry, best of luck with the gathering; it sounds fantastic.

Hello Stu.
It is my car and I believe it is Ford Tawny Brown (metallic) - it looks like it matches a CarPlan aerosol I have, and I once parked next to a Ford Escort at a show which matched exactly.
Not sure if this is the original Lotus colour though? It has been resprayed at some point (over the metalflake roof). I have seen a few other brown ones, but they always look darker or a different shade. PMS had one for sale at the Donnington Lotus Show a few years ago which was more chocolate brown, and I have seen another that was more of a grey-brown.
See Elan+2S130/5 for more photos.

Terry,
I regularly see more than 10 at Spyders workshops near Peterborough, last time I was there they had 7 +2's parked outside with a further 5 inside being worked on and then there are always the basket cases parked around the back (4 cars in varying states).
Common as muck!
Regards

Great picture Alan!
I did have a thought though , if we have about 50 cars in France and we have a fifth of them meeting, how many cars are in the UK and would a fifth be able to meet?
I reckon there must be at least 250 cars in the UK so we are looking for a picture with 50 cars
I'll post some pictures of our event in May
