Pie cutters

Lads,
does anyone make the optional knock on pie cutter wheels? If not then how tough is it to find five?
Come to think of it, maybe you guys don't call them pie cutters. That is what we call them in the Sunbeam Tiger world. Please correct me if I have made an error.

I think you mean octagonal spinners, the things that keep the wheels on? +2 have octagonal or 3 eared ones.
You can get them on Ebay used or SJ Sportscars sell them new (see screen print).
Or do you mean the alloy wheels (these are also on the screen print)?

Were these optional on the Plus 2? I see Paul Matty sells what appears to be the same wheel. Opinions please. Jason, thanks. I found a price at SJ and thanks. About $150 +/- ea. U.S

they are the later lotus alloys.....
IIRC they were standard later....on the 130/4 and 130/5.....
as a rough guide
+2 had steel wheels
+2s had the steel with inbuilt chrome rim
+2s 130's had the lotus alloys
minilite and wolfrace etc...were aftermarket
what do you plan on putting them on?...just with you mentioning sunbeam

Hi Mike
Glad that helped. If you are new to the +2 have a look at http://www.elanregistry.org/guide.php#plus2
A great site with lots of pictures of different +2 in http://www.elanregistry.org/list_cars.p ... ME_sys_sfn[0]=-3&PME_sys_sfn[1]=2&PME_sys_sfn[2]=3&PME_sys_sfn[3]=4
Lots of knowledge on here, all you have to do is ask.
You should be aware that if you buy used wheels there is a chance that they may not be straight and may need a lot of work to repair, strip and repaint. Sometimes it is easier and more cost effective to buy new.
Hope this helps.

elanman, the Tiger reference was for a wheel that was optional on the Tiger. The Tiger guys call them pie cutters. At a distance they look like wedges.
Jason, once again thanks for the info. I have too many projects going.
The car I have is a '70 plus 2.
Thanks guys.
