another yellow +2

PostPost by: hansaxl » Thu Nov 04, 2010 10:18 am

Dear all,

just got this photo in of my Elan +2 and thought it too good not be shared. It was taken during an orientation rallye through the Alps ('Passomania') in September. 9 cars (Alphas, MGs and the like), and 2000 km on twisty roads in 5 days. Great fun!

Cheers, Hans

...yepp!

Even after fitting a new cap and changing the breather system according to a tipp from Matty's, it is less, but still there... All original, so I don't mind too much...

That looks a high altitude, did it breathe OK?

Did you notice any effects from the thinner air?

Hardly any trouble, even at 2000+ m... And the webers are pretty worn and need an overhaul anyway. So, all in all, this is not going to be a big issue. And, if you are at high altitude, it won't take you long and it is going downhill again, hehe...

Haha! That?s exactly what came up to my mind first! Hans: call Limora in Berlin and ask for Mr. Udo Schneider (send some greetings too). He will send the solution for this problem for about ? 5,- Mine doesn?t leak any longer!

Hi Marode (what a nasty name, if it refers to your car...),

thanks for the suggestion. I will contact the guy.

Inbetween I had drilled a hole in the filler pipe and connected one of the breathers directly here (as said, suggested by Matty?s). The other one is blanked off, so no problems with fuel staying in the pipes. But even an additional new cap rubber gasket hasn?t solved the problem fully, so we will follow the line and call the guy.

Cheers, thanks, as usual, Hans

Thanks for the compliment. Though yours looks veery clean, unlike mine (yet). Yep, here is one more.

More (also pics of other cars) can be viewed under http://www.passomania.de/fotos.html

Cheers, H.
