Hi,
my name is Thomas from germany and a new forum-member. I bought my Elan + 2 S in 2005 in London. The car was built 1971 and was 2005 in a little good status. After in the meantime 5 years I brought the car into a very good status. The car makes fun and only the MOT makes every two years problems because of the handbrake. After an adjustment the handbrake goes exactly once.
Sorry- my english is a little bit rusty
Here a picture of my Lotus.
Regards
Thomas

Hi Thomas
Your car does look really nice.
I've never had any problems with the standard hand brake set up on my car. It does need to be carefully set up in the first place and it is important to keep within the maximum .003" (0.076mm) clearance between disc and pad, but otherwise it's fine. Of course all pins, pivots and adjusters etc must be free and in good condition or it will never be possible to set it up correctly
Regards
Andy
