It was great to get the chassis out from under the body and start mounting the rebuilt parts. All suspension rebuilt by previous owners powdercoated, have sandblasted all brackets ,diff, wheels and repainted what need to be. Running with standard 165/80 13 tyres. All brakes done ready to go on. It was time to take a break from sanding, filling ,priming etc. Have to make choice of fully rebuilt crossflow 130hp or look to the zetec swap but I want to keep as much standard as possible.

Added a couple more photos with panels fitted temp, to keep out of way. It looks more like the car we brought back to NZ in the mid 70s. That one was pistachio this one not quite as bright, was originally lagoon blue.

Hi Graham,
Looks like you have made some great progress I like the color choice, how long before it is on the road ?

Update on progress. Chassis has been fitted with crossflow motor and a modified 5 speed isuzu gearbox -followed along the line of Maurices conversion but with adapter plate. Am using crossflow motor as easier to fire up to try gearbox. Will continue to modify zetec as funds allow but for now I would like to get the body reunited with chassis after 12 years apart.Hopefully that can happen within a week as nights a lot lighter with daylight saving.

Have added some more photos, all set to try firing up this easter and then get glass screens in and a few minor jobs. looking forward to a drive down our driveway and see if the gearbox works. Its 2 years since we bought the car and a few dollars and many hours in the garage.
