1972 - Elan+2 convertible question

Hi out there -
I'm after advice/ info on what to check etc on a '72 Elan+2 S130 convertible. Never owned a Lotus before (had Alpine, GT6, Stag, Vitesse, MGB) - so I know very little about these. It's had a new chassis but don't know how long ago, and it's in my local garage awaiting repair on an electrical fault. I've been told the owner wants to sell, it's a bit tatty inside, but paintwork looks to be OKish and not crazed- so what's it worth? I know very little about the history of the car, but am looking to find out more this week.

Trust you read the '+2 convertibles, good or bad thread' as there's a bit in there about their history.
