first drive

After weeks of solving one problem after another. I have finally sorted my +2 and drove it for the first time. I had a last minute carb leak which was solved my "flattening" the small side plate and using a new gasket. I also needed to adjust the reverse light switch as it was preventing full engagement of reverse gear. Drove without front and rear glass. It worked well and feels fine.
Now its a few detail items and off to the upholstery shop for completion. Then back to my shop for front and rear glass.
It took years. Seems to have been worth it.
This is also a very good time to thank everyone on the list for their assistance and to wish all a very happy new year.
Many thanks.

Hello Bob and a Happy New Year to you too, it's guaranteed, you're putting your Lotus on the road in Oh Eight !
I've got a '69 +2 as well and will say it's worth every ounce of effort. The car is a refined driving experience. Can anyone name a car that handles better. (? ? ?) Driving one without a windscreen must be even more of a thrill.
Be careful and drive it fast, Eric
