The car in question is a '72 +2 S130.
It is fitted with Dellorto's.
The coil is of the ballast resistor type.
Is that the factory set-up?
Also, which distributor variant should be fitted?
Trying to help a fellow owner with some problems tomorrow morning, and not knowing +2's, would like a couple of fundamentals out of the way.
Regards,
Stuart.

Sounds standard to me. Distributor should be a 23D4. Ballast resistor setup seems to have been installed by Lotus at random as I have struggled to see a pattern of models or years that have them but that could be because so many have been changed overtime. From the parts manual they appear to have been an option from about 1967 on.
