I have been searching the net, and read numbers of books, without finding one complete scource for tech info on the Elan +2S 130/4.
So, I decided to make my own tech page.
Do you mind taking a look, and double check that the given info is correct? I would be most happy to receive comments and corrections, so I can make a complete and acurate tech info site on the Elan.
Site can be found at http://www.haverstad.net/lotus/elan/tech.htm

There are 4 'must have' books for the Elan Plus 2:
Authentic Lotus Elan & Plus 2 by Paul Robinshaw & Christopher Ross
The factory Workshop Manual
The factory Parts Manual
The Rebuilding of a Lotus Elan by Brian Buckland
The last book is the subject of a recent thread, and whilst it only covers the 2 seat Elans, there is still a huge amount to be gained for the Plus 2 owner.

Data looks pretty good from a quick review. Some of the data such as alternate stromberg carbs applies to earlier cars or US cars only not to the true European early 70's 130/4.
You quote 2 weights the lighter one I have only seen in road test reports, for some of the later Plus2's, I have never seen it quoted from a Lotus source. I dont know whether it means the later cars were made lighter and Lotus did not bother changing their manuals or whether Lotus made special light weight road test cars to improve their performance which testers picked up when they weighed them
