plus 2 at Castle Coombe

No such thing as a free lunch!

I have Lotus biscuits to give away and if you are quick you can bag one of Grumpy's doughnuts from Mike Duff displayed on the bonnet of the "Ex John Pelly Zetec Elan" or big Z as Mike calls it (I think?).

Then you will have to parade yourself

Hello Alan & Sue
We are desperately trying to get Ronnie ( the +2) ready for Castle Combe, have come across loads of problems and have virtually had to rebuild the car. Failing that will have to make do with the M100 - don't think we'll attempt it in the Austin 7 (can't get enough luggage in!). Will let you know later in the week .
Regards
Hazel & Albert

I did know last year that there were all sorts of problems with the diff and suspension, but it looks like other things have reared their heads, we shall see. If I get an update I will report on here.

Interesting, Thanks Alan

Was hoping to join you with my Pistachio Zetec +2, but sadly it's still at Spyder having its internals updated. The Elise 'standby' Lotus has just suffered head gasket failure after 89K and 18 years trouble free service. So I'll look forward to seeing the cars and I'm hoping that the Will Price who's trailering his car over is the same Will Price I used to bump into at Lotus shows many years ago.

Well done to Paul Matty's Parts Department. Checked things over yesterday and found a badly split exhaust mounting (the one at the very back). My Peco silencer is heavier that the earlier +2 ones so the rubber mounts don't last long. Matty delivered this morning so all good to go. Travelling from London this evening and staying 5 minutes away from the circuit. Drive safely everyone. Jim

I just heard from Hazel and Albert that they are bringing Ronnie Petersons +2 on a trailer. They nearly had all the repairs and niggles sorted but unfortunately the car failed it's MOT on items that whilst not serious would require too much time to fix.

It looks like quite a few people are trying very hard to make the event, well done!
Kindest regards

Today and especially this afternoon are being reported as the worst day of the year to travel on the roads :|

Put your feet up and relax now, lots to do and see tomorrow.

It is me Niall, nice to hear from you. I'm at CC now but not with the +2. It didn't let me down - the towing Disco got a puncture...

I'll check back on this forum in the unlikely event you see this and we can meet up?
