John,
Is that a "Hen's Teeth" original rear bumper? If so you should get lots of offers for that item.

Fingers crossed that Albert Clements will be bringing "Ronnie", he has had lots of fettling to do in the last year since purchasing the car, it's touch and go as to whether the car will make it. It would be nice to have a famous name car in the line up
Nicknamed Super Swede, Ronnie Peterson rose from karting to become a seriously talented Formula 1 driver. Driving for Team Lotus, led by the ever-charismatic Colin Chapman, he is still regarded by many as one of the fastest drivers in F1 history. This special Elan was given new to Ronnie Peterson by Colin Chapman in 1972 and represents a unique opportunity to acquire a historic Lotus...

Wow, I would have thought the car was sorted considering the money it went for, any idea what sort of fettling was needed?

I emailed Hazel, (Alberts wife) yesterday asking whether they were coming with the car to Castle Combe and she sent the following reply
I did know last year that there were all sorts of problems with the diff and suspension, but it looks like other things have reared their heads, we shall see. If I get an update I will report on here.
Hello Alan & Sue
We are desperately trying to get Ronnie ( the +2) ready for Castle Combe, have come across loads of problems and have virtually had to rebuild the car. Failing that will have to make do with the M100 - don't think we'll attempt it in the Austin 7 (can't get enough luggage in!). Will let you know later in the week .
Regards
Hazel & Albert

draenog wrote:My car failed its MOT on Saturday with leaking front shocks. Some new ones should be arriving tomorrow (Spax unfortunately, but they were on the shelf at Paul Mattys). So hopefully everything should be fixed by C.C.
New shocks fitted and MOT last Friday. However, I managed to clip the wheel arch taking it out the garage over the weekend (first time in over 3 years). Luckily no fibreglass damage, and filler and rattlecan later it looks OK. So barring any further accidents I should see you at Castle Coombe.
Rob.
P.S. How many people are signed up for the track day? I'm not as I didn't know if the car would be ready, and too be honest I wasn't sure my +2 could take a hard day on the track (with the shocks done, it's a lot better). I guess there's the free lunchtime parade?
