Well-short of the 50 and only 9 days to go, so, not wanting to drift the thread , but how about an informal auto-jumble , list on here your wants and "spare" spares ( for C.C. only ) and lets see what we can do....I've got some.

9 days? I make it 11
My car failed its MOT on Saturday with leaking front shocks. Some new ones should be arriving tomorrow (Spax unfortunately, but they were on the shelf at Paul Mattys). So hopefully everything should be fixed by C.C.

Guys.
Unfortunately i must also pull out of the event. I have been offered a job starting on the Thursday beforehand.
If i go i will not be in a lotus as 1, i dont want to embarrass the forum members.
And 2, it may be a last minute call so i want to drive up in reletive comfort.
I probably wont know untill i finish Saturday.
Appologies,
Paul

I thought army types were supposed to be organised?
Why would you be embarrassed to bring a +2 to Castle Combe? My car is far from concours in the body and paint department, I spent a happy couple of hours this afternoon glassing the RH side of the air intake/nose/grille area that got damaged in a car park when some kind soul reversed over my bumper and drove off without leaving details. It's not the first time the car has taken a ding to this area and I found a few bodges under the bumper that I was forced to rebodge although I did use fibreglass and resin rather than the chemical metal bodgy stuff that was there and finished off with a light skim of filler. All of this in between talking to Paul Elan66 on the phone, popping in for dinner, ignoring Paul's call when I was glassing and then priming and painting from rattle cans filled with colour match to the main body colour. It looks fine and the grille won't fall off now, but it's not a pristine car. Even if it was there's no way I or anyone else would look down our noses at somebody who had taken the trouble to turn up with their car to enjoy seeing and being seen.
It's a very relaxed day at Castle Combe unless you are taking your pride and joy on track, in which case the day will go quickly in a whirl of drivers briefings, noise testing and adrenaline. Please don't miss out on the experience.
Kindest regards
Alan Thomas

I have, over the last couple of months, been contacted by a fair number of non-forum +2 owners wanting info on Combe. So I expect a decent overall turnout.
Paul, as an ex infantry PC it's always good to know the Sappers are around! Two up and bags of smoke.

Hello all,
I recently bought a '70 +2 from someone who is/was on this forum. I'm going to trailer it over though as I'm not up for a 300 mile maiden trip. Also, it'll probably be the scruffiest one there.
See you on the day,
Will

Paul,
It was rude of me not to congratulate you on securing employment, well done!
After lunch at Castle Combe always sees the best action on track as drivers get used to the circuit and what their cars can do. Normally there are no damage incidents, but spins and offroading can be prevalent and fun to watch. If the weather is good the event lasts the whole day up to around 6PM before the marshals start getting fidgety. The paddock will start thinning out at around 4pm, but up until then it will be well worth a visit if you can.
Kindest regards
Alan Thomas
I thought the aim was to get as many Plus 2 as possible?
Not an aim, as such, we just felt it would be nice to have as many as could attend and celebrate the significant birthday. we are very relaxed about it.
