If the foam on the flaps is worn yes you will get some hot air leakage but usually it’s not all that noticeable - at least it isn’t for hot climate immune Australians. It could get quite hot however if the flap controls are not properly adjusted and they are sitting open when they should be shut.

Heater valves can stick and corrode and it puts more potential leak paths in the system. No valves is far more reliable!

Hi All,
The Valve in "The Veg"''s post has been used by Triumph TR6 owners for some years to replace the original triumph valve (New OEM versions of which have a tendency to fail). It works really well and is a direct replacement..
