The +2 has more room in the bottom of the Boot wider and maybe a bit longer.
The Battery could be put on the left like the Elan so it would be a lot easier to reach.
As standard you can not fill the Fuel Tank on a +2. As standard you can put more in an Elan without problems.

Ps. The Cooper S had 2 Fuel Tanks as an optional extra.

This car was on show at Lotus@Donnington in 2007 - lots of interest. I believe the owner had custom glass made by Pilkington. Options 1 did a lot of the bodywork and meshing ally & fibreglass for the roof. I unkindly called it a Sports Break...

The V8 is an interesting idea. The Duratec V6 is also.

Many think that more power/speed makes these cars unstable/unsafe.
I am not so sure, where originality and functionality meet. I suspect Clegg’s comment on the USA import of a straight 6 is probably accurate.
LS V8, and 800hp is probably crazy. Sort of surprised no one has done this, or the Duratec V6 or EcoBoost . Suspect height of the engine etc is the limiting factor. Thou, bonnet scoops etc are not uncommon.
As far as the lines of the +2. It has certainly grown on me and at present (maybe thats because I acquired a baby). I am not changing anything, thou probably the bumpers incorporated into the body as they are quite obviously an afterthought (also, does anyone know they are steel?). Then again, the chrome all sort of ties itself together. So unless one is going to dechrome a +2...?
I am lifting my +2 body off chassis this fall.

It looks to be very well done, and option 1 are the bees knees, but I don't actually like it. Sorry.
